Last night, I was watching a documentary show in local channel. One of the nice stories they featured is a love story of the Filipina and a Canadian guy. They meet online and have an online relationship for months. They have plan to meet for real May of next year, meet the family and spend some time together before planning on their wedding. However, the plan changes by the super typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan. The eye of the typhoon hits the city where the girl lives. The guy was so worried. He is been trying to contact the girl and her family but he cannot. After several tries, he did able to contact the brother of his girlfriend (Filipina). He learned from his girlfriend’s brother that his girlfriend is badly wounded and is at the hospital. The Canadian guy (boyfriend) sold his car to have the money to go to the Philippines to see his girlfriend. He flew to the Philippines on the 14th of November 2013. He meets his girlfriend for the first time in a worst situation. He embraces her and promises to be there for her, support her and love her. Because the girl’s situation is not good, he then transferred the girl to the better hospital on nearby city (Cebu City).
To make the long story short, the guy spent much just to make sure the girl’s condition get better. While he is in Philippines, they decided to get married as well. The girl is very lucky to have found the guy she has right now. He did everything because he loves her very much. It doesn’t matter to him if the looks of the girl is different from before, to him what is important is their hearts and their love for each other. What a great love story indeed. Their fate changed by super typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan. Though it is sad thinking of the devastation that super typhoon Yolanda cause, it is still happy ending for the new couple. Love really conquers all I must say.
How about you? Can you something like that for love? Can you make a promise no matter what?
