Still the people’s champ

image not mine

A week ago, was the much-awaited boxing fight between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia.  The fight is exciting because Pacquiao will try to blemish the undefeated record of Jeff Horn.  Both fighters will for sure put up a good fight.  The fight that the people will surely enjoy.   It is twelve rounds of boxing.  And over 55, 000 people watching the arena. The family is watching the live streaming.  Unfortunately, Manny Pacquaio loses the fight.  Manny Pacquiao did give his best to be victorious, however, he is not that lucky that day.  Jeff Horn remained undefeated and the new welterweight champion of the world.

It was one sad day for the country but still proud of the country’s pride.  Some are questioning why Jeff Horn won.  Many say it is because he is from Australia that is why he won the fight.  I did watch the fight, and I really thought Manny wins the game.  I felt he was robbed.  Well, I guess the judges see it differently.  They have the unanimous decision and their decision is final.  Though Manny Pacquiao was not able to bring home the bacon, to us Filipino he is still the champion.  He is still the people’s champ.  There are rumors that they will have rematch, this will be an exciting one.  When that happens, I really hope Manny Pacquiao will be victorious.

I wish the country will send more participants

I like watching sports especially in the Olympics, SEA Games, ASEAN Games, World Olympics, and the likes. This month the 17th ASEAN Games is on-going. Almost all ASEAN nations are participating and of the countries that are participating is my beloved country Philippines. I support and pray that the country’s delegates will do well and hopefully will bring home medals too. The Philippines is sending the best athletes to fight and give honor to the country. I have watched the opening ceremony and kind of sad because we only have 150 delegates. It is too little compared to the other countries.

Most of the delegates/players sent in the Incheon, Korea ASEAN Games were veterans. Though there are new faces and first timing. I have watch the games of the players from the country competing. Some succeed to proceed to the next round and some don’t. What makes me really sad is that we are lacking of players to compete. For instance in Men’s Gymnastics, we only have one player. The chances of bagging more medals especially gold are very low because of lacking of participants/players. The campaign of bagging gold and medals is useless because of the numbers of delegates the country is sending. I do hope that the government will give more budget and attention to the Philippine athletes and discover talents of the people for us to be more competitive in sports.

Is it because of the rematch?

When the presenter reads the score cards and announces the winner, the people who watch at the MGM grand shocked.  I even heard the word ‘boooo’ after hearing that Bradley won the fight.  Well, obviously those were Manny’s fans and supporters.  The decision is very controversial because Manny is the real winner.  If you saw the fight, it is very clear that Manny wins it.  It is so unfair on Manny’s side, but he accepted that decision.  He even humbly says, ” The decision has made, let’s give credit to him.”  An awesome line from people’s champ and best boxer of the world.

I have watch the interview and they were talking of a rematch.  In fact they already have a date of the rematch.  Yes, the so-called rematch will be on November 10 of this year.  Makes me think that the rematch is the reason Manny lost the game.  Was it all for business since Manny brings people to watch the game?  Or they wanted Mayweather to come out and have the guts to fight Manny?  Or is the fight/game manipulated by the master of the game?  These are the questions that comes up on my mind after watching the fight and hearing the interview.  Anyways, I know these questions will be a puzzle to me and I don’t expect for answers too because I know in my heart that Manny wins the fight.

My love for basketball game

When it comes to sports, basketball is my game.  I am an avid fan of basketball games ever since I was a kid.  My first idol was my father.  Oh yeah, he used to play basketball when I was little.  Even though he is not the star player, to me he is.  Seeing my father and later on my brothers playing basketball makes me an avid fan of this sport up to now.  I watched local, national and international basketball games.  I do love other sports too but basketball is my favorite.  Believe it or not, my love for this sports made me decide to join the basketball when I was in high school.  Even if I do not know how to play basketball, I still joined the team to complete my dreams. haha!

Joining the basketball team in our school was one of the memorable days of my high school life.  I gained more friends and able to see basketball games in different schools.  My school competes to different school.  Since I do not know how to play, I contented to just cheer the team.  It was really fun especially when our team wins.  I always remember those times every time I watch basketball games.  Brings back the memory when I joined the team and becomes a cheerer.lol   This is what I did because I love basketball game/s.  Wonderful experienced that I will always cherish forever.
